We asked GPS to undertake a complete bathroom refurbishment for us. They were the 4th company we had talked to and the first one we felt we trusted. The work they carried out was of very high quality with exceptional attention to detail, they obviously take pride in their work and as such we now have a bathroom we are very happy with and which surpassed our expectations.
Some of the quotes we had received suggested we may have additional costs to pay at the end, this worried me as you have no control of the final bill. I had the impression that this was a mechanism they use to push the price up. The bill from GPS was exactly as quoted apart from the cost of the plasterboard that we had thought we would not need to replace (£30). This for me demonstrated their honesty and desire to build a relationship based on trust rather than just taking the opportunity to extract as much cash and disappear.
The last point I would make is that the builder who did our work, Dan, was simply a nice guy and a pleasure to have around the place. For instance, in response to a throw away comment whilst he was doing the work on the bathroom he took delivery of a dishwasher and organised one of his colleagues to move some pipes that are part of the heating system and install the dishwasher for us.
We have already discussed doing a refurb of the kitchen later in the year and decorating a couple of rooms too. These guys do exactly what they say in that they take the hassle out of home improvement. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
